The Owensboro Family YMCA's swim lesson programs help children and adults learn about water safety, develop water stamina, and discover stroke mechanics. Developing these lifelong skills helps people learn to swim but most importantly, keeps them safe in and around the water.

The Y wants all families to be water-ready, which is why we offer this FREE program to second graders in Owensboro and hosts safety around water events throughout the year. In this class, the Y teaches children of all ages and from all backgrounds that water should be fun, not feared, if you know how to stay safe in and around water.
The Y will host the next program over summer camp with our campers and the Neblett Center due to receiving grants from YUSA. To find out more about this program, email the Aquatics Director at hope@OwensboroYMCA.org.
Adult swim lessons will be offered in a group setting for individuals over 45 or with a fear of water. These lessons are offered free of charge due to a grant from YUSA. These lessons are open to members and nonmembers and can be scheduled outside of the times listed by emailing hope@OwensboroYMCA.org.
If a lesson is cancelled by the YMCA,
If you or your child is unable to attend a lesson due to personal scheduling conflicts, illness, vacations, or simply no-shows
