We have an extraordinary opportunity to ensure a brighter future for the children and families in our region. This year our goal is to raise more for the financial assistance program and the college scholarship program.

When you give to the Owensboro Family YMCA, your generosity ensures members of our community who can not afford, but deserve a Y experience have that opportunity. The Y is a not for profit organization that provides Financial Assistance to 1-in-6 members we serve. The Y relies on charitable donations to sustain and enhance programming, serve our members, and reach out to our individual communities. Your support helps us make a meaningful and long-lasting impact right in your own neighborhood.

The Annual Campaign allows the Y to provide financial assistance to children and families who cannot afford the full cost of services. This helps the Y to ensure that no one is turned away because of inability to pay. Attached is a flyer with event information for the 2017 Young Leaders breakfast which supports our financial assistance program.

I think everybody deserves the Y and together we can take on many of the greatest challenges facing our young people, our health and our community. I have made my gift and hope that you will help us reach our $38,000 thousand goal by supporting the YMCA.

Consider how your gift impacts our community:
-One $1,000 College Scholarship to a deserving High School Senior that demonstrates leadership ability and the YMCA's core values; honesty, respect, responsibility, caring and faith
-provides 2 seniors with a year of membership in order to strengthen their bodies, maintain a healthy lifestyle, and socialize with friends both old and new
-provides 8 adults with the opportunity to change habits and tackle underlying health issues with our Weight Loss Challenge
-provides an elementary school student with Afterschool care for a year, enabling working parents to be assure that their children are safe, happy, and healthy
-provides 25 children with the opportunity to participate in a variety of youth programs that strengthen their spirits, minds and bodies
-provides one child the opportunity to attend Summer Day Camp for an entire summer
-provides a single parent and his/her children to join the Y for a year and use the facility and its programs as a way to bond a grow closer as a family
-provides 8 kids the opportunity to increase strength, speed, and agility in Youth Strength and Conditioning
-teaches 8 kids to swim, helping then gain confidence, as well as safety and rescue skills that will last a lifetime
-gives 12 homeschool children the opportunity to bond with other children in Homeschool Gym and Swim

When you think of the YMCA, know it's more than just a's a cause. A cause that with your generous support will continue to strengthen the community in which you live.
